Fairview MAC meeting THURSDAY November 7 @ 6pm Castro Valley Library or via zoom.
IMPORTANT MEETING: Two Action Items on agenda
First agenda item:
Adoption of Sixth Cycle Housing Element of the Alameda County General Plan with text and map amendments to the Fairview Specific Plan and other areas plans. 116 parcels in urban unincorporated areas are being proposed for rezoning. 30 of these parcels are in Fairview.
According to County plan “amendments to the Fairview Specific Plan are proposed to increase density or allow residential developments where it is not currently allowed on a total of 30 parcels”. The proposed density on 27 parcels is up to 17 units per acre. 3 other parcels would be changed to allow up to 29 units per acre. One of these is located at Kelly and Maude. The other two are 2637 East Avenue (store) and corner of East Avenue and Windfeldt across the street from store. Parking requirements are limited.
The changes would also enable ministerial approval by the Planning Department. Ministerial approve means that if a project meets a checklist of County requirements then the project will be approved. Ministerial projects cannot be influenced by public concerns. No public hearings are required.
